Tutti Frutti Mini Buns

Mini buns baked with a liberal dose of tutti frutti.

1 cup All purpose flour

1/2 tbsp Active Dry yeast

5 tbsp Milk

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tbsp Sugar

2 tbsp Olive oil

1/4 cup Tutti Frutti

Water / Milk – to knead

1.  Proofing the yeast: Warm some water and sugar to it. Stir well till the sugar dissolves. Now add the yeast, give it a good mix and let it rest for 5 – 10 min. It would have turned frothy by now.

2.  Sieve together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, milk, tutti frutti, oil and knead into a dough. Rub oil over the dough and place it in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it stand for 1 hour to develop and raise.

3.  Knead it again and make 6 balls from it and shape it into a bun. Place the balls on a greased plate. Brush oil over the balls and sprinkle some tutti frutti over them, if desired and let it rest for another 1/2 hour to rise again.

4.  Preheat the oven @ 190C/375F. Slide the tray into the oven and bake for 20 min. Your buns are ready.

Cooks' note:
I took the buns out 5 min prior to completing and brushed the top with milk. You can also use melted butter instead of olive oil.
