The Chocolate Fudge Brownie

A great fudge brownie recipe that instantly becomes very popular to those who try it.

1lb 2oz semisweet chocolate

1lb butter

12oz granulated sugar

8oz cake flour

1T baking powder

4 large whole eggs

1lb walnuts, crushed


1c water

1c apricot preserves

1t unflavored gelatin

1.  Melt chocolate with butter in double boiler.

2.  Mix dry ingredients into mixing bowl, except for walnuts.

3.  Mix chocolate with dry ingredients, for 4 to 5 minutes.

4.  Add eggs.

5.  Pour onto 9" x 12" baking sheet, sprinkle walnuts on top, pressing walnuts into mixture with hands.

6.  Bake in oven 300F for 30 to 40 minutes.

7.  The brownies are done when the edges begin to turn crispy and they've raised 1/4".

8.  Remove from oven, allow to cool for about 30minutes, before spreading a thick layer of the glaze with a brush.

9.  Glaze: Mix together thoroughly water, preserves & unflavored gelatin in saucepan and bringing to a boil for 2minutes. Again make sure the brownies have cooled for about 30minutes before brushing with the glaze.

Cooks' note:
Brownies are easier to cut up if you place them in the freezer for about 3hours after glazing them.
