The Apparition Cocktail

by: Entertaining is Easy/Lisa Newsome

This is my favorite summer cocktail…bar none. Created by my favorite mixologist ever…Douglas Greene…this martini cocktail is a little fruity, a little tart, not sweet…very tasty! A play on the word “apparition”, this cocktail is truly remarkable & unexpectedly delicious as both a martini or as a party punch. Make sure you have enough ingredients on hand as it will be a very popular cocktail at your next summer party…I promise!

preparation

1.  For individual cocktails...In a martini shaker, combine both vodkas & all three juices. Shake well & strain into a martini glass. Pour a splash of ginger ale & enjoy!

2.  For a party punch...in a 2-quart container, combine both vodkas & all three juices. Chill until ready to serve. When serving, top with ginger ale or champagne.

Cooks' note:
If serving as a party punch, I usually count on 1-2 person, depending what else I am serving...wine, beer, etc...most people will have only 1 Apparition, then switch onto something else, such as wine or beer...I also do not hesitate to serve over ice if I am serving this as a party punch on a hot summer day.
