This is my healthier take on apple pie and snicker doodle cookie. It is crispy, it is nutty, it is fragrant with cinnamon and honey and the goodness of apples and pie crust makes this dessert amazing. It is not at all heavy like apple pie and the sugar content is so much in control that you will make it again and again. Go bake and dig in these simple yet elegant goodies.

1 sheet Pillsburry ready pie crust : single You may make more as needed Generally a packet comes with 2 sheets.

1 large Apple : sliced thinly Mine was slightly tart which actually enhanced the taste You may choose any kind You may actually use apple sauce if you would like.

Honey : to drizzle on top

1/4 cup Almonds chopped roughly :

1/4 cup Cinnamon sugar : which is 2 tbsp of sugar mixed with 2 tbsp of cinnamon powder

thanksgiving-dessert-apple-pie-snicker-doodle-canaps-4608.jpg 1.  Preheat the oven at 400*F. Mix cinnamon sugar and chopped almonds together in a bowl.

2.  Roll out one pie crust on a workable surface. And thin it out a little bit with rolling pin.

3.  Take a middle size or 3 inch diameter cookie cutter or a small opening bowl, and cut out circles from that pie.

4.  Lay these small canapés on the baking sheet, little apart from each other. Load them up with cinnamon sugar and chopped almonds mixture.

5.  Now layer 3-4 thin slices of apple on top of these loaded pie canapés.

6.  Drizzle these canapés with honey on top. Add more of the cinnamon sugar almonds mixture lightly, if desired.

7.  Bake these gorgeous beauties in the oven for 8-10 minutes, till the crust turns golden on the side. Take them out and enjoy them warm. I am sure, they will be a hit this thanksgiving.
