Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate {with Almond Milk}

4 cups unsweetened almond milk

2 oz dark chocolate (preferably at least 70 percent cacao), finely chopped

1 tsp unsweetened organic cocoa powder, plus more for garnish

1/8 tsp ground cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 paprika

splash of vanilla extract

chocolate shavings, (optional, for topping)

1.  Place the chocolate and cocoa in a mixing bowl. Heat the almond milk in a saucepan. Pour over chocolate and cocoa and whisk well to melt and make frothy. Stir in vanilla. If available, use a hand blender or hand mixer to make it even frothier on top. Pour into mugs and serve immediately.
