Sour Vegetable

Sayur Asem (Sour Vegetable) is Indonesian sour vegetable soup with sweet corn, buah melinjo dan daun muda melinjo (gnetum gnemon), long beans, peanuts and carrot. With sour and spicy of soup, and add little of shrimps paste. Yum...yum...yum. Here, difficult to find melinjo. so I changed with olive fruits.

serves: 4

1 sweet corn, cut 3 - 4 pieces.

1 carrot, sliced thinly.

4 long beans, cut 3 cm.

50 gr peanuts.

10 olive fruits.

20 ml gr tamarind mix with 50 water and get tamarind juice.

1 1/2 lt water.

Salt is required.

1 tbsp sugar.

2 bay leaves.

Grinded Spices :

1/2 medium onion size.

2 cloves garlic.

1 tbsp red dry chili paste.

1/4 tsp shrimp paste.

1.  Pulse onion, garlic, red dry chili paste until smooth.

2.  Simmered water until boiled into pan. Pour grinded spices, shrimp paste, and all of ingredients.

3.  Boil until soft all of vegetables.

4.  Ready to be served.
