Slow cooker refried beans

These are so easy and I bet once you make them you will never buy the canned ones again. This recipe makes 2-3 cans worth of refried beans.


Adjust your ingredient quantities here. Simply enter how many servings you need, and the ingredient quantity will update accordingly!

serves: 10-12

3 cups dried pinto beans

9 cups water

1/2 onion peeled and chopped

2 tsp minced garlic (we like garlic A LOT so we added a bit more:P)

2 tsp black pepper

5 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cumin (optional)

1 tsp chili powder

1.  Rinse your beans and add everything in the slow cooker.

2.  Cook on high for 8 hours stirring occasionally and adding water as needed.(shouldn't really need to add any however.)

3.  After 8 hours strain, mash or use a food processor and serve however you like.
