Potato Peas Roll

Potato Peas Roll is very healthy, filling and tasty recipe where the chapatis(Indian flatbread) are stuffed with the potato and green peas filling. This can be served as snack/lunch/dinner.

For the dough

3/4 cup All purpose flour

3/4 cup Wheat Flour

Salt to taste

Warm water

Oil for cooking the chapatis

For the stuffing

1 Onion chopped lengthwise

5 cloves Garlic chopped

2 Green chillis

1 inch Ginger Grated

3 Potatoes cut into cubes

1 cup Frozen Green peas

5 leaves Coriander strands for garnish

1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

1 tsp Cumin seeds

1/8 tsp Asafoetida/Hing

1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder

1/2 tsp Chaat Masala

1 tsp to 1 1/2 Red chilli powder

2 tbsp to 3 Yogurt/Sour cream

Salt to taste

1.  For the dough

2.  Add all purpose flour, wheat flour in bowl, salt and mix well. add water little by little, knead it to form soft and smooth dough. cover it and keep aside for 15 minutes.

3.  Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. dust the working surface.

4.  Roll each portion between your palms to form a ball. then flatten it.Using rolling pin roll them to form thin round chapatis.

5.  Heat the tava/griddle. cook the chapati till it has few golden brown spots both the sides adding little oil.

6.  For the stuffing

7.  Microwave the potatoes for 4 to 5 minutes.

8.  Heat oil in non-stick pan. add cumin seeds, turmeric powder and hing and saute for few seconds.

9.  Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillis, salt and saute till it becomes translucent.

10.  Add garam masala, chaat masala, red chilli powder, yogurt and mix well.

11.  Finally add the potatoes, coriander leaves, green peas, slightly mash the potatoes and mix well. switch off the flame.

12.  Take chapati that is cooked above. Add filling on one side of the chapati and roll it tightly. cut them into pieces. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup and enjoy.
