Paneer Chilly

Paneer Chilly is an amazing and spicy party starter dish prepared with cottage cheese. It is a treat for every vegetarian lover. I am a cottage cheese lover and this particular dish drools my taste buds. Lets get started.

250 Paneer : gms

4 tbsp Maida/All purpose flour :

tsp Ginger garlic paste :1

2 tbsp Cornflour :

1/4 cup Water :

1 Onion : unit

1 Capsicum : unit

1/4 cup Spring onions(chopped) :

1 tsp Chopped ginger :

Chopped garlic : 1tsp

1/4 tsp Aji-no-moto(Chinese salt) :

2 tsp Chilly garlic sauce :

Tomato sauce : 2tbsp

3 tbsp Soya sauce :

tsp Sugar :1

1 tsp Cornflour :

1.  Cut the paneer/cottage cheese in rectangular pieces.

2.  In a bowl add maida, cornflour, salt, ginger garlic paste, little water and make a thick paste. Dip the paneer in the batter and shallow fry them in a pan and keep it aside.

3.  In a saucepan, pour little oil, add chopped ginger, chopped garlic and saute it for 1 min.

4.  Add chopped onions after onion turns translucent add tomato sauce, soya sauce, chilly garlic sauce and cook till oil separates.

5.  Add chopped capsicum and saute it.

6.  This time add fried paneer pieces, aji-no-moto and finally dissolve 1 tsp of cornflour in 1/4 cup of water and stir till the gravy thickens.

7.  Add salt and sugar.

8.  Serve hot with garnishing with finely chopped spring onions and coriander leaves.

Cooks' note:
Keep the cottage cheese immersed in warm water for 10 mins to make them softer.
