M+M Cake Batter Ice Cream

This is a simple, but tasty ice cream to make.

1 cup whole milk

3/4 cup sugar

pinch of vanilla salt (regular salt is a-okay)

2 cups heavy cream (this is whipping cream if you're a Canuck, I have yet to see heavy cream here)

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup cake batter

2 cups M + M candies

1.  In your stand mixer combine your whole milk, sugar and salt. Mix until sugar dissolves.

2.  Add your heavy cream and vanilla and cake batter, mix again for a couple of minutes.

3.  Cover your bowl (I use tinfoil) and stick it in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours.

4.  Remove from fridge and transfer 1/2 the mixture to ice cream maker freezer bowl.

5.  Set the bowl on the machine, turn on and mix for about 10 to 15 minutes.

6.  Add your M + M's by hand and fold in gently. The color will bleed on this one so you want to do it at the last-minute.

7.  You can serve immediately or stick the bowl in the freezer until ready to eat. Just remember to take it out about 10 minutes before serving.

Cooks' note:
I took the photo for fun, it doesn't need to be that messy. I was just enjoying my photo shoot a bit too much

Add the M+M's at the last minute to avoid color from running.
