Milk Halwa

Milk halwa is a sweet Indian dessert served as an after meal dish. This dish is very easy to prepare.

1 litre Milk

2 cup Sugar

1/2 cup Semolina/rawa

1 cup Ghee

1 tbsp Almond/Badam(Sliced)

1 tbsp Cashew nuts/Kaju(Broken)

Saffron : few strands

1/4 tsp Branded food color(yellow)

1.  Soak the saffron in 2 tsp warm milk and keep aside for 10 mins.

2.  In a heavy bottom vessel, pour milk and boil till it reduces to 3/4 of it's consistency and add sugar, food color and stir.

3.  Meanwhile, In a pan fry rawa in 1 tbsp ghee and add it to the milk.

4.  Cook till it thickens and add the remaining ghee to it.

5.  Lastly, fry almonds and cashews in little amount of ghee and add to the mixture.

6.  Gently mix the soaked saffron to the mixture.

7.  Milk Halwa is ready to serve.
