Heart Shaped Cake Bites perfect for Valentine's Day!

1 box cake mix (plus ingredients for cake mix)

8 oz (1/2 cup) buttercream frosting

1 package (16 oz) Vanilla CANDIQUIK® Coating

1 package (16 oz) Chocolate CANDIQUIK® Coating

small heart-shaped cookie cutter

Pink sugar sprinkles & additional candy coating (for piping)

1.  1.Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box.

2.  2.Crumble cake into a large bowl. Add frosting and mix thoroughly.

3.  3.Chill cake mixture in the refrigerator (you can speed this up by placing in the freezer).

4.  4.Make sure the cake mixture is packed tightly. On wax paper, roll out to approximately ½ inch thick. You may need to smooth out any cracks.

5.  5.Cut out heart shapes with a small (1-1 ½”) cookie cutter.

6.  6.Melt CandiQuik according to the directions on package.

7.  7.With a spoon, coat cake bites in melted CandiQuik; set on wax paper.

8.  8.Decorate as desired with candy coating and/or icings and sprinkles.

Cooks' note:
TIP: I piped the heart outline on by using the remaining Vanilla CandiQuik. Simply pour the coating into a plastic bag (or use a piping bag) with a *tiny* hole cut off one corner and pipe an outline of the heart shape. Sprinkle immediately.
