Keralan Fish Fry

Fish is one of the staple food in kerala and they like to fry their fish a lot...This recipe is one of the typical keralan dish...I used coconut oil to fry the fish like the keralan do..but you can use any oil as you like.. Hope you all will give this a try and let me know what you think..

4 piece Seer Fish Steaks( Any Fish fillets)-

Coconut oil-5 tblspn

First Marinate:

tsp Turmeric powder-1

tsp Lemon juice-2

tsp Salt –1

Second Marinate:

Red chilli powder-1 tblspn

Ginger Garlic Paste-1 tblspn

Coriander powder-1 tblspn

tsp Pepper-1

Salt to taste

Lemon juice-2 tblspn

1.  Take the fish fillets and marinate it with salt,turmeric and lemon juice.

2.  In a mixing bowl mix chilli powder,coriander powder,ginger garlic paste,pepper,salt and lemon juice together and form a thick paste..If it is too thick you can add a little water to this..

3.  Now apply this paste to the marinating fish fillets and let it rest for 30 min.

4.  Heat coconut oil in a tawa and fry the fish on both sides till golden and completely cooked through.

5.  Garnish it with onion rings and lemon juice..

6.  Serve with rice..
