Kadhi Kachori

Kadhi Kachori is very popular North-Indian dish prepared using besan/chickpea flour , yogurt and spices. This is no onion, no garlic recipe. I watch lot of food and travel shows and I found the combination of kadhi and kachori very interesting. So I thought of trying this out. I have prepared a simple dal kachori and kadhi. I must tell you it was super hit.Do give it a try. Here is my simple recipe for kadhi .

4 tbsp Yogurt

4 tsp Chickpea Flour/Besan

1 tsp Mustard seeds

1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp /4 Asafoetida/Hing

2 Green chilli

1 1/2 tbsp Ginger grated

1 tsp Red chilli powder

1 tsp Garam Masala Powder

4 to 5 seeds Methi/fenugreek seeds

Salt to taste

1 tbsp Vegetable oil

3 cups Water

leaves For garnish Grated ginger, green chilli, red chilli powder and coriander

1.  In bowl add the yogurt ,chickpea flour, water and mix well so that there are no lumps in it.

2.  Heat oil in pan. add mustard seeds, hing, turmeric powder. when they splutter add the green chilli and ginger and saute for minute.

3.  Add the yogurt, besan mixture to it along with red chilli powder and garam amsala powder mix well and bring it to nice boil.

4.  Now cover it with the lid and cook it in low flame for 30 minutes till it becomes medium thick and all the flavors are well combined.

5.  Kadhi Kachori is now ready. Serve it hot and enjoy.
