Jalapeno Snack

Jalapeno Snack is deep fried snack prepared using basic ingredients from your kitchen. Its crispy, tasty and you can finish off in no time. You will crave for more and more. Its also called Alsando in konkani.It means long beans.

1 big Jalapeno

1 cup All purpose flour

pinch of Asafoetida/Hing

1/4 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Red chilli Powder

1 tsp Cumin seeds/Jeera

Salt to taste

1 tbsp Vegetable Oil for dough and oil for frying

1.  Chop and grind the jalapeno adding very little water to form very thick and smooth paste.

2.  Transfer this to bowl. add all purpose flour, hing, baking soda, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, salt to taste and mix well. Now add tbsp of vegetable oil and water little by little to form soft and non-sticky dough. cover it. let it rest for about 15 minutes.

3.  Heat oil for frying in medium flame. See that oil is atleast 40 percent covered in pan.

4.  Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Roll each ball to medium thin circle and cut them into thin strips/sticks.

5.  Once the oil is hot, Fry these thin strips/sticks on both the sides, till they turn golden brown in color. transfer this to paper towel. allow it to cool down. repeat the process for remaining dough.

6.  Jalapeno Snack is ready. Serve and enjoy.
