“Galaxy” Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Cake batter baked inside an ice cream cone and topped with frosting. I use rainbow colors to create a "galaxy" look.

1 box of store bought cake mix or your favorite homemade recipe

gel food colors (red, blue, green, yellow, violet)

12 ice cream cones

1.  Make your cake mix recipe.

2.  Separate the batter into five bowls.

3.  Add one of each of the colors to the frosting.

4.  Mix the frosting.

5.  Layer the colors into the ice cream cones.

6.  Bake for 15-20 minutes or as long as your mix says to bake them. (Mine took 20 minutes at 350 degrees)

7.  Allow to cool before frosting.

9.  Make your own frosting or use store bought.

10.  Separate the colors just as you did with the batter.

11.  Then take a large wilton star tip and a gallon sized ziploc bag and put each of the colors on the sides of the bag. That way when you pipe your frosting you will get different colors!
