GAJAR KA HALWA Receipe is a Dessert made with Carrot .This is the traditional way of making gajar ka halwa. Who doesn’t like this divine delicacy? But we often tend to avoid it, as it is full if calorie laden ingredients like khoya, ghee and dried fruits. Once in a while can be ok to surprises ur family with this lovly dessert . I have used Milkmaid U can use ful fat milk / cream instead of Milkmaid / Skimmed Milk Powder like Amul etc.

4 cups thickly grated RED carrots

4 tbsp ghee

1 Tin Milkmaid

2 tsp of Cream / Ful fat Milk

4 tbsp sugar (optional )

4 tbsp mava (khoya)

2 tbsp raisins (kismis)

2 tbsp of Cashwenut( kaju )

2 tbsp chopped almonds (badam)

1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder

preparation

1.  * Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker; add the carrots and sauté on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring continuously.

2.  * Add the milk, mix well and pressure cook for 1 whistle.

3.  * Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.

4.  * Transfer into a broad non-stick pan, add the sugar,milkmaid, mix well and cook on a high flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring continuously.

5.  * Add the mava, mix well and cook for more 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.

6.  * Add the raisins, almonds and cardamom powder and cook for another 1 minute.

7.  * Serve hot or warm with scoop of vanilla Icecream , it's just yummmy .
