Falafil with Tahini Sauce

I have a little craze towards middle eastern foods...Even if it is the simple pita bread or chicken shawarma ..I love it all day... And talking about shawarma...It is my favorite...HUH..I should make it soon... Now coming to todays recipe..This is the most famous dish all over mediterranean cuisine...This is a kind of chickpea pattice which is deep fried..This is either served as a wrap for pita bread or as a snack... The best combo for this is tahini sauce..I was searching a good recipe for this all over the net and found a awesome recipe from Edible Garden...It is a lemony tahini sauce... So here is the step by step recipe for you..Hope you like it..

cup Chickpeas / Channa-1 dried


cup Cilantro / Coriander leaves-1

leaves Mint / Pudina-1 cup

cloves Garlic-4

tsp Cumin powder/Jeera powder-1

tsp Coriander powder / Malli podi-2

tsp Chilli powder-1

tsp Pepper powder-1

tsp Baking powder-1

-2 Lemon tblspn

Salt to taste

1/2 cup Breadcrumbs-

Oil for deep frying

For Tahini Sauce:

Tahini-2 tblspn(Recipe below)

-1 tsp Lemon

clove Garlic-1 grated

Salt to taste

1.  For Making Tahini:

2.  Take 1 cup of sesame seeds and toast it in a pan till it gets light golden and toasted..Take it in a blender and powder it..Add some salt and grind it again..Pour some olive oil through the funnel and blend it till it gets smooth and creamy..Store this in fridge..

3.  Method:

4.  Take chickpeas,onions,cilantro,mint,garlic,chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder,pepper powder ,baking powder,salt,lemon juice in a blender and make into a smooth paste.

5.  Tip this into a mixing bowl and add in some bread crumbs and mix well.

6.  Make this into shape of vadas and fry them in medium hot oil till golden brown.

7.  Serve it with tahini sauce..

8.  For Tahini Sauce:

9.  Mix tahini,lemon juice,garlic and salt till it gets into a smooth sauce..Serve it with falafil.
