Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

A sweet tooth fix - Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough rolled in silky chocolate, decorated with sprinkles.

1 stick unsalted butter

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

2 cups AP flour

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips, or more if desired

1 lb chocolate candy melts

1.  In a stand mixer beat together the butter, sugar, and maple syrup. Add vanilla, beat until combined. Turn the mixer on low and slowly add the flour until its completely incorporated.

2.  Beat in the sweetened condensed milk, you may not need all of it. Look for a good consistency that will be able to roll into a ball, not super sticky. With a spatula stir in the chocolate chips.

3.  Cover & refrigerate for 1 hour, should be very firm.

4.  Scoop out a heaping tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball and place on a lined baking sheet. Repeat for the rest of the dough. Place in the refrigerator again to firm up, about 30 minutes this time.

5.  Heat the melts in the microwave or double boiler. Dip the dough balls into your melted chocolate then place back on the lined baking sheet. Decorate with sprinkles, colored sugars if desired. Let cool or place back in the refrigerator to harden. Devour or store in a lidded container in the fridge.
