Bread Masala Chaat

Bread Masala Chaat is quick, delicious and chatpata recipe prepared using bread and few different spices. If you are chaat lover then you must try this out and do not forget to garnish this with coriander leaves, onion and sev, this is the one that gives the additional taste :) I have used Aloo bhujia from haldirams , its my favorite.

10 slice White Bread

1 Onion chopped

1 inch Ginger grated

5 cloves Garlic chopped

2 Green chilli chopped

4 to 5 Potato cut into cubes

1/4 cup Frozen Green Peas

1 tsp Cumin seeds

Salt to taste

1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Sauces/Spices used

2 tbsp Pav bhaji masala

1/2 cup Tomato ketchup

1/8 tsp Asafoetida/Hing

5 leaves strands Coriander

1 tsp (optional) Red chilli powder/Cayenne Powder

1/2 Juice of lemon

1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

1/4 tsp Sugar

Onion chopped and sev for garnish

2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped for garnish

1.  You can either boil the potatoes or cut them into cubes and microwave for 5 minutes and then mash them.

2.  Heat oil in pan. add cumin seeds and saute for few seconds. add the onion, garlic, ginger, green chilli and saute till it becomes light in color.

3.  Now add the mash potatoes, green peas and all the ingredients mentioned in 'Sauces/spices used' , mix well and saute for 1 minute

4.  I have toasted the bread slices in toaster and then cut each bread into 9 pieces. you can toast or just cut and add the bread slice to the above mixture and mix well and saute for just one minute.

5.  Transfer this to serving plate. garnish it with onion, coriander leaves and sev.

6.  Bread Masala Chaat is now ready. Serve immediately with cup of tea/coffee and enjoy.
