I love combining time honored recipes with my favorite alcoholic beverages. Sometimes the resulting recipes work, sometimes they don't. Luckily, this one was a home run!

3/4 cup heavy cream

1 cup mascarpone cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup heavy cream

1 cup powdered sugar

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon vanilla

3/4 cup chocolate stout

1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee, cooled

48 ladyfingers

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1.  In a bowl, beat cream until soft peaks form, set aside.

2.  In a large bowl, beat together mascarpone and cream cheese, remaining cream, powdered sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth.

3.  Fold in the whipped cream and set the mixture aside.

4.  Combine the beer and coffee in a shallow dish and quickly dip all of the ladyfingers in the mixture.

5.  Line the bottom of an 8X8 baking dish with a layer of the dipped cookies.

6.  Carefully spread half of the cheese mixture on top of the cookies and sprinkle with half of the cocoa.

7.  Repeat the process again using the remaining ingredients.

8.  Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
